This Christmas…

This Christmas…

Everyone around you is feeling something this Christmas: excitement, nostalgia, loss, gratitude, stress, warm and fuzzies.

You may be carrying something no one else sees or even knows about. It could be the best news ever that you aren’t sure who you can share it with that will rejoice with you or something heavy you wish you could muster the strength to ask for help with.

When our now 24 year old was little, any given day could bounce back and forth from the best day evuh to the worst day evuh in a matter of moments. It was the cutest thing evuh and from our perspective, we knew it was neither. When we look up where our help comes from, we gain a more eternal perspective, also. A child’s perspective is so much more limited than that of an adult as is ours and God’s. So whether this seems like or even truly is the best Christmas evuh or the worst Christmas evuh based on circumstances that are surround it, I wanted to remind you of a few faithful verses from Scripture that will add to the joy of the season for you…and perhaps be a little bit like putting on a pair of rose colored glasses. Even better, heavenly colored glasses:

But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” – Luke 2:10-12

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. – Zechariah 9:9

Every good and perfect gift is from above, cometh down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. – James 1:17-18

May your joy be full!

Also, our church has been in a refreshing series called Laughing All The Way and I preached one of them. You can check them out at harvestmobile.com or on our Harvest Church Youtube Channel.

Happy Monday and Happy Christmas ANYWAY!

XO,

Adrienne
