“This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. “
is a verse that brings me so much peace. It makes me think that I need to just stop and be in the moment. That verse says to me to accept where I am in life and be content with this day not looking back at yesterday with regret or looking ahead at tomorrow with anxiety. Just being here present now today in this moment.
How often do we do that? How often are we rejoicing in this moment without this day being crowded by worrisome thoughts of tomorrow or hurtful memories and losses of yesterday?
As my family was “just being” tonight in the kitchen, my husband suggested that I write about it for my blog. I realized, “Oh no, I haven’t written my blog yet for the morning” and so my thoughts immediately left the now. Anxiety came over my countenance…about writing a “happy blog” LOL ~ um not ok.
Kevin had invited me to watch a movie as the boys finished washing the dishes and instead of ruining the moment by fretting over this blog I decided to take his advise and just tell you about our simple “doing not much of nothing time together talking about things on all our minds in the kitchen tonight” being completely in the moment with each other as a family. Let’s all remind ourselves of this verse each day that it is the day the Lord has made. Let’s rejoice and be glad, even happy in it. Let’s be in the moment with our families this week. And when we realize we need to hurry and do something, I hope we will not let it keep us from the now.
Happy Monday!
What a great article, Happy!!!!! I am so proud of you helping so many people to be happy, and how the only real way to be happy is accepting Jesus as your Savior, or getting closer to God by reading the Word of God and praying. Also, teaching us not to worry as Jesus is always there for us to call upon if we just do it instead of worrying to death about our problems. Whatever happens to us, just be happy as God will never forsake us. I love you!!!!! โบ๐๐๐
