What holds us back? What quiets our wild? Why don’t we just go with it and enjoy life more?

“This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it,” is a verse that brings me so much peace. It makes me think that I need to just stop and be in the moment. That verse says to me to accept where I am in life and be content with this day, without looking back at yesterday with regret or looking ahead at tomorrow with anxiety. Just being here present now today in this moment. How often do we do that? How often are we rejoicing in this moment without this day being crowded by worrisome thoughts of tomorrow or hurtful memories and losses of yesterday?

Leading motivational speakers and life coaches say that if you simply change your state, you can change your mood. When we are in a funk or having a bad day, happy would be the last word we would use to describe ourselves (right?!), but because God gives us all things richly to enjoy according to Scripture, we can make a conscious effort, a choice, to enjoy the joy of the Lord that He lavishes on us when we are with Him.

Let’s all remind ourselves of this verse each day that it is the day the Lord has made. Let’s rejoice and be glad, even happy in it. Let’s be in the moment with our families this week. And when we realize we need to hurry and do something, I hope we will not let it keep us from the now.  So get in His presence, stop quieting your wild, and let your happy dance move you right out of the funk and into a little bit of fun!

I hope to hear about all your happy dancing this week on social media! If you get really brave, video yourself or take a selfie and tag us on So-Me.

Happy Monday!
