You bring your babies home from the hospital and host birthday party after birthday party fit for princes and then BAM!, you look up and they are both living far away from you. One in OC, California and one just outside of Nashville, TN.
Woa ~ hold on ~ wait a minute. We just spanned 23 years in two sentences. Maybe you are only 23 yourself or without kids yet or you are your kids’ taxi in this precise moment or you have grandkids now. Whatever stage of life you are in, there are situations that come and go and you’re like, take me back to the good ole days or you’re like, what? wait? how did I get here? and now what? or like this is NOT how I pictured this would go.
And that’s where faith comes in. We only see through a glass dimly scripture tells us. Our ways are not His ways. Yes, His Word also tells us He shows us things to come. But if you’re like me, I didn’t see 2020 coming. I didn’t see lots of things in my life coming. Yet in weird kinds of ways, when we walk closely with the Lord, He does prepare our hearts and when we get farther away from Him than we meant to, we may find ourselves caught completely off guard with things. We sometimes get side swiped when those we love, work with, or do life with stray from His path and their finding their way back affects our lives. Whatever situation you find yourself in that you are processing through, just keep taking one more step and trust Him to take you through. He is so faithful. He has such a beautiful way of taking the brutal and making it beautiful. He will never leave us or forsake us and in the moments it feels like He has, remember we are believers not feelers. We win! Just keep trusting in His grace, His mercy, His love, His character, His leading, and His people He’s connected you to.
Join me in trusting Him to perfect anything that concerns us, that He is turning all things around for good, that He is taking us and ours from glory to glory, and that He goes ahead of us and provides for our times of trouble.
So if this is not how you saw this going, rest with me in His presence knowing He’s got this and He’s got us, too! Let’s choose to rest in gratitude of all the times He has kept us and let’s rest in thankfulness for how far He has taken us knowing the best is yet to come!
Happy Monday!
