Today, I celebrate you as a woman! Can I be super honest and transparent with you about all this women empowerment and women’s lib and all the hype in circles about the power of women? You know I will be honest LOL and so often maybe a lil tooooo honest. Ok here goes….confession time.

I think the truth is I’ve taken women’s liberation for granted. For the first time in my lifetime have I seen women’s lib seriously threatened in our country this year in 2021. I have friends who’s social media has been taken down completely just for the use of the word WOMAN !!!! What!? Seriously?! So guess what……I’m all of a sudden super interested in what this day represents. Girls, we had better stick together like never before. May we shout it from the roof tops today….

Happy International Women’s Day!

Let’s all pause today and pray for the leadership of all of our countries that women’s voices will be able to continue to be heard, that we as women will walk in the proper alignment along side men and that both genders will be celebrated as both well should be.

May we recognize our similarities and our differences and may our rights be protected. I pray that we will fully realize what it looks like to be a powerful woman who is not perfect or without struggle but who relies solely on Jesus for her strength. May we not try to lord over men or allow men to lord over us. May we notice in Scripture that God took us from Adam’s rib – not his head or his foot. We were made as women to be loved and we were made to respect men. If men would love us the way God intended, respect would automatically flow out of us toward them as they so deeply desire from us. If we would respect them as a human race in the way God intended and would be ingrained in our society in this way (which is currently soooo is not) but if it were then they would automatically love us out of their hearts as we need them to. This isn’t fairy tale. This is how God designed it. But now all these thousands of years later – culture has evolved to look very different from the original design.

What to do now? How do we navigate this tangled web of lovelessness and a society void of respect and honor? We go back to the Word and find our value as women in His Word. Truly Jesus is the King of Women’s Lib – the woman at the well, Mary, on and on and on. The first person to preach the gospel was a woman. So girls let’s go forth today in the power of Jesus’ name and do all that is in our hearts knowing we are backed by the King of kings no matter what the culture is in your country or mine!!

We all engage is spreading the happy which is only found in Jesus, sharing the love that never fails and believing ANYWAY no matter what things look like so we can thrive in life and not just survive!!!
