Ha! Seriously! I had no idea when I wrote the 4th Chapter of Believe ANYWAY & titles it CRAZY FAITH, that sometime after I had written that, such a cool dude would become known by it. Honestly, I was ready for people to maybe critique me in what hat even means, etc. So funny! I’ve never even heard his rendition of the idea but keep meaning to go find it. Here’s mine ~ just a tiny excerpt from that chapter and I hope it stirs you like it did me when I wrote it a few years back now!!! This chapter got me so fired up and it actually is what carried me to have the kind of crazy faith it takes to write a third book!
Faith works by love.
Crazy faith is fueled by crazy love.
I asked my husband what the common, key component was for all of those miracles listed in the chapter on Crazy Faith. His answer, without hesitation, was LOVE.
He expounded by saying, “Being so in love with God and His people. And being aware of His love for us all.”
His voice cracked as he told me this with such conviction.
Sidenote worth mentioning
He had just been seeking God about miracles flowing out of love. It’s so neat when God speaks to us about things around the same time. There is nothing like being married to a faith-filled spouse who loves God more than he loves you. All that faith-filled-love spills out all over you and it’s just the best thing ever. I am such a blessed woman. If you are single, wait for your Mr. Wonderful. It takes faith to know it’s really love. The two go together very nicely. Faith and love. And him and me!
Love is the “How to” Of faith!
You want to live a life that is filled with faith and miracles flowing out of your life? The abundant life Jesus died for us to live?
Love is how.
“Faith works by love.” Galatians 5:6
23“Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. 24“There- fore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have re- ceived them, and they will be granted you. 25“Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against any- one, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions. 26[“But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions.”] Mark 11:23-26 NKJV
Notice that this passage is all about mountain-moving faith.
What short-circuits mountain-moving faith? Choosing not to forgive some-
one. Another way to say it is by choosing not to LOVE ANYWAY.
Forgiveness is choosing to Love ANYWAY!
What keeps us from forgiving? One thing is fear. The Bible tells us that perfect love casts out fear. When we forgive, it sets us free even more so than setting the offender free. Forgiveness doesn’t say what was done is okay, or justify it, but it says that you are no longer going to be held hostage by the pain of it any longer. Forgiveness has to be offered by faith. It doesn’t always mean you forget. It’s okay if there is a sting at the remembrance, but by faith, your heart is clean from it. You simply choose to no longer wish ill
will toward anyone or repeat the offense in your head over and over. Taking unforgiving thoughts captive are such a huge part of forgiveness. Casting them over onto Jesus makes our walk lighter and easier. And it strengthens our faith to, literally, then be able to move mountains.
Romans 5:5 tells us that the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. This means that when we were born again, love came to abide in our hearts, so the love of God is in us. We have to choose to yield to it instead of jealousy, or being offended, or strife, or unforgiveness.
