Have you ever gone from being on the mountain top to the valley all in a matter of minutes or days? Ever thought, “Well, that was THE BEST but what about now?!”
Last week, I announced on this Happy Monday Blog that our youngest son asked the love of his life to marry him and she said, “Yes!”
This weekend, we got to announce this exciting news to our church! Such a fun season we are entering in. Last evening we FaceTimed our Cali Cooley’s and enjoyed each other. It’s just been dreamy this whole past couple of weeks leading into the engagement all the way til now and I suspect this high to last for quite a while for us all.
Be that as it may or shall I say absolutely will be, no doubt…. but one day, perhaps years from now, when there are children in the picture crying in the middle of the night and when they begin to see how little sleep you can actually live on…they may ask themselves, “What about now?” There will be a choice to be made to focus on that precious little one who will bring so much joy or to focus on how tired they are and how much they don’t won’t to be up at 3am. Ask me how I know this will happen? 🙂 Okay, Okay…back to the Bliss of NOW. And thank you, by the way, for all the Congrats and celebrating with us on this fantabulous news!
What about you? What is going on in your life right now that you are maybe seeing one way but you could have a different perspective or focus that could help you answer, “What about now?” with “Yes, even now, I trust You, Lord! Yes, even in this, though a challenge, I choose to be thankful.”
This reminds me of when Garrison was a little guy and so passionately would proclaim, “Best Day Evuuuh!” (he couldn’t say his R’s) and then not even an hour or two later, something would happen less than desirable and he would, with the same conviction, declare, “Wooost (Worst) Day Evuuuuh!”
I remember teaching G like my Mom taught me the scripture where Paul said we are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. She would teach me how the Bible says when you’ve done all to stand, ya keep standing. And so I passed that on to my boys. One of the main things I learned in Bible School that came to bear early in ministry and life was that we need to learn to “abound and to be abased”.
So what about now? What about it?! Circumstances change! Just as bad as it just got, it can get better just that fast. My husband loves to say this, ”Everything is temporary.” Ya see, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So if you don’t like how things are going right now. It’s ok, just wait a minute or so and IT WILL CHANGE. Things change. Times change. People change. But God NEVER changes. He is our one constant we can count on. So what about now? Faith is now! That’s what! So when we are weak, He is strong. If you’re in the valley, look up, where your help comes from!
So what am I saying? Cowgirl Up! What about now? Cowgirl Up! Cowgirls totally know how to look up, reach up, and mount up on a horse who is stronger than her and can take her farther than she could go on her own. She understands all she’s gotta do is be up for the ride! So saddle up, get as comfortable as you can in the saddle and let God do the work. Just hold on and trust in His strength which is so much more than yours! The more you trust and bond with your horse, the more comfortable you in the saddle and the same is true with God.
Whether you’re having the Best Day Evuh or the Worst Day Evuh or somewhere in between, trust God and you’ll see…better days are just around the corner!
Actually, THE BEST DAY EVUUUH is truly right around the corner! Happy Girl 25 is September 26th! Get your tickets now if you haven’t! It’s going to be so much fun! Grab your boots and a girlfriend or two and LET’S GO, GIRLS!!!! Let’s Cowgirl Up! We are praying for you and just know this is going to be a genuine turn around for many! You are just one Happy Girl away from being the Happy Girl you wanta be!!!!
Happy Monday!

Adrienne
