Because of Their Courage
Because of their courage, beaches are filled.
For some it’s been many years,
But hearts finally healed.
Healed maybe not totally
But smiles peak through the tears.
Laughing, playing in the sand by the bay,
Courage carries on in so many ways.
Babies take first steps
As families gather round.
Kids go off to college
Destinies to be found.
She lands her first job
He ropes his first calf
They cheer on their team
Down at the half.
Driver’s first drive
Finally sixteen
Asks her out
Prettiest girl he’d ever seen.
Life takes twists and turns
Takes courage when you get burned
Keep at it and never back down
Move forward, at least stand your ground.
What’s going on right now with you?
Fighting for your life
Or troubles, just a few?
Grab someone you love
Give them a kiss.
Pick up the phone
Call someone you miss.
Hang out all together
It’s Memorial Day
Those men who gave their lives
Wouldn’t have it any other way!
Happy Memorial Day!
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.””
