1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

 

It’s so unbelievable how one minute I was on a cruise with my friend swimming with dolphins, sea lions, and Manatees. Bucket list stuff. Then we step foot back onto this great land we lovingly call the good ole U S of A  only to find out massive tragedy struck in Vegas just hours before. Then after being home for just a little while found out a friend’s loved one was killed in a plane crash this morning. 

How can one write a Happy Monday blog on the heels of that? My heart is aching for all of those dealing with such tragic loss today. The temptation with loss is to go into fear mode…along with all kinds of modes. Most negative emotions though are attached to fear. All such emotions are more than normal, understandable, and even appropriate in times of such severe grief and loss. It’s amazing though how powerful love is in these moments. Love truly never fails. My prayer is that those today facing unthinkable, horrific moments will literally feel Love’s arms wrapping around them whispering hope in their ears that happiness will be possible again. My prayer is that peace that passes understanding will overtake many today going through whatever life is throwing at them even in the most cruel ways. My prayer is that many today will experience perfect love casting out fear surrounding numerous situations and that love will win over hate again as it always does. Even in these moments when it seems possible.  

May God be with you. May love be with you. May He turn your mourning into laughter again in time……. like only He can do.
