Have you ever felt like the world was on your shoulders? Stressed to the point of feeling like you might crack? Anxious upon awakening morning after morning? Grieved by loss unbearable?
We get bound by so many things life throws our way. What if we could rise above these things and soar like the eagles above them? Is it just cliche or is it really possible?
“We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”
II Corinthians 4:8-10 NKJV

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.”
Colossians 3:15 NKJV

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;”
Philippians 4:6 NKJV

Most of us read Philippians 4:6 👆👆and think, “Okay, but how?!”
Colossians 3:15 👆👆is how! We have to let the peace of God rule and reign in our hearts in order for 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 👆👆to be a reality in our lives. If we let anxiety rule and reign in our hearts then we will be crushed, in despair, and destroyed.
The bible says that as a man or woman thinks in his or her hearts so are we! We have a choice of letting peace rule in our hearts or not while rejection, anger, hurt, loss, anxiety, and depression are all jockeying for the throne of our hearts and minds. Who will we give the reigns to?
“and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.””
John 8:32 NASB

Learning to accept and apply the truth of God’s Word regarding the peace of God ruling in your heart and mind will set you free from anxiety, depression, stress, or whatever it is you are grappling with at the moment.
Actually learning to accept the truth of things you cannot change will set you free as well. When circumstances are dependent on others’ wills, sometimes accepting that it is what it is while trusting that if people choose this and it negatively impacts me, I can still trust God and obey His leading like Noah did. Sometimes it requires hard work emotionally or otherwise but like Noah, we can “build a boat” to still soar over problems that we cannot control. Wether God delivers you effortlessly or wether He leads you to “build a boat”, the truth of God’s Word is greater than the truth of any given situation! Realizing this truth is how we can be free as a bird! We can float above or soar above whatever life throws at us. It is our choice.
Happy Monday!
