The Boundary of Peace

In today’s blog I would like to simply walk you through a few scriptures about peace and observe together how important peace is when it comes to having boundaries in our lives. Boundaries are critical to our spiritual, emotional, and physical health. ✝️=❤️=😃

You will notice a thread below as we read a verse and a comment about each verse in how it relates to having healthy boundaries in our lives. A friend of mine once told me years ago who was a counselor that she noticed in her clients, this trend – when women were absolutely done with a relationship, it was when they just couldn’t take the lack of peace anymore. So most will do anything, she told me, to find peace upon being without it for longer than they can handle. Unfortunately, she explained, this would often result in divorce or loss of relationship in some regard. Fortunately, though, this doesn’t have to be the case. Let’s look to scripture to see what God has to say about how peace can be an amazing boundary for us in our lives…

“Too long have I lived among those who hate peace.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭120:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

• This verse makes me think of people who just hate peace. 🤪 There are people who need there to be constant chaos so that they can be the constant hero. This may be subconscious or simply a lack of organizational skill. Nonetheless, these people get into a rut or habit of refusing to work within successfully lined out systems and enjoy the “pay off” they get of always living in the urgent. Leading Pshychologists agree that there is some “pay off” that keeps us behaving the way we do. It is ok to notice this type of person who may be throwing peace out the  window in your life and require them to change or you change your proximity in some way with a boundary of some kind no longer allowing people who hate peace to steal your peace day after day.

“and the way of peace they do not know.””

‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

““There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.””

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭57:21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“I have no peace, no quietness; I have no rest, but only turmoil.””

‭‭Job‬ ‭3:26‬ ‭NIV‬‬

 • There are those we all know who have no peace. They do not know peace. If you are like Job and me, you have been that person before. 😳

3 things –

1- If you know people like this and you have a place in their lives to share this blog with them, maybe it could be a blessing to them. The Bible says Scripture is like a mirror and we look into it and see ourselves more clearly. I remember in the eighties, make up mirrors with the lights all around the edges were THE GIFT every teen age girl wanted! When I got one, I was like, Woa!!! That’s a lot of blemishes!!! Almost overwhelming. I had never until then had such a clear view of every imperfection in my face! Thanks a lot whoever gave me that gift. 😂The Word of God highlights every zit, wrinkle & imperfection. But the awesome part is it also is the miracle cream that will help fix those issues we see about ourselves as we look into it! So maybe your friend you know who is struggling with Peace first needs to know that is the case and perhaps this blog can help them have the hope they need to begin to guard their hearts with all diligence and let peace and joy and love (the forces of life) flow out of hearts rather than worry, and pain, and anxiety.

2- If the one with no peace is you, apply Part 2 (next week’s blog) especially and watch your peace level rise within you like never before! 📆

3- If your friend doesn’t have ears to hear and continues to hate peace, you may consider finding a new friend. You can only help someone who wants to be helped. And of course I am not suggesting to leave anyone in the dust! But I learned as a lifeguard a long time ago, to first save yourself so that then you can save others. 😍

Wether today’s blog ministered to you for you or for someone who’s in your life robbing your peace, I pray that you begin to have boundaries of peace and the result will be that you get to enjoy the peace that God so graciously has already provided for you in a whole new way!

Chances are with a little self awareness, we could all use a dose of more peace in our boundaries and a few friends we love dearly could, too!😜

The real punchline to this whole concept comes next week in part 2 of The Boundaries of Peace so don’t forget next week’s blog. It will seal the deal for your peace! It’s the coolest part and brand new revelation on this topic that has revolutionized  my peace level.
