Hmmm, Come to think of it…I really wish happy thoughts flooded my mind as free flowing as they seem to many people that I am close to. My husband is one of these naturally “happy people” as are a couple of my closest friends. And by the way, I think God sort of set those people in my life because He knew I would need them to help me with my “happy”. And then, He called me to become the “Happy Lady” LOL Such a sense of humor He has. Love it!!
Are you one of those naturally happy people? If so, please comment on the blog and give us some of your habits and ways of thinking that will help those of us who have to sort of work a lil OR A LOT harder at seeing the glass full instead of half empty. I’m sure we could all learn something from you!!!
Are you one like me, who has to work at being happy? Maybe you’be been, like me, called a realist or even a pessimist all your life by all the hopeless optimists around you. LOL…You know that one of us realists or pessimists came up with that term…HOPELESS optimist. Really?!?!….We can even make optimism be hopeless. What?!
So what to do? 2 Corinthians 10 tells us to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. He is our Prince of Peace, Our Rose of Sharon, Our Bright Morning Star, Our Jehova Jirah, the God who provides all we need and so so much more. When I just typed that sentence, I got happier. And it’s the true happiness, as one dictionary says, is “enjoying joy.” He is our source of joy and when we bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, that means we make every thought we have basically pass through the filter of Him. This is THE KEY to enjoying your joy also known as being HAPPY.
He is our saviour. So ask yourself,”Will this thought bring salvation to my situation or mess it up more? Will this thought produce life for me or death?” Jesus came to give us life sooooo…that thought that came to you in the car after you got off the phone with her that you just need to tell her blankety blank blank blank, ask yourself, “Will this create life in our relationship or death?”
Wow! That was so good, I think I will try to do a better job putting this blog into practice in my own life. I hope you will, too. And when ya do, write me and let me know how you are doing. Comment, comment, comment so we can sort of all become a #happyanyway community and encourage eachother!!!
Also, next Monday will be Happy Thoughts part 2 and it’s already stirring in my heart so don’t miss. I am planning to move my guest bloggers to Wednesdays and they will become my #WCW 🙂
XOXO to all ya’ll from L. A. (Lower Alabama)! Have a great week and remember, when something doesn’t go your way, just say, “Oh well, happy anyway!” and watch God change your attitude, stress, and worry to peace, joy, and love!!!
