What’s been on my heart lately is how God is longing for a family who is the real deal. Don’t you like being in a family who is real with you or do you wish you had such if you don’t?

You know who else is longing for this? The next generation. They are looking for what’s real and for what works. It is up to us to show them the real deal.

Let me be plain with you. This is what is on my heart: a real challenge for us today.

““I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit. You brag, ‘I’m rich, I’ve got it made, I need nothing from anyone,’ oblivious that in fact you’re a pitiful, blind beggar, threadbare and homeless.

“Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I’ll come right in and sit down to supper with you. Conquerors will sit alongside me at the head table, just as I, having conquered, took the place of honor at the side of my Father. Buy your clothes from me, clothes designed in Heaven. You’ve gone around half-naked long enough. About face! Run after God!

I truly believe TODAY is the day of repentance. I just am seeing it lately more and more it seems…. a lukewarm culture among Christians who I thought were so on fire for God, only to find out they are living a double life – young people and old alike who want to see how close they can stay to sin and still be ok. Listen, our church slogan “No perfect people allowed” is NOT code for “Hey, keep sinning and everything will be ok.” Noooooo, that is to encourage those of us who are hard pressed on every side but still our gazes are focused on God, straining every muscle serving Him with all of our beings but still we are not perfect, realizing our God’s Grace is sufficient.

It is not a license to go and party it up and live a life of questionable character as long as you have a scripture in your Instagram profile. That makes God want to vomit the Bible tells us and frankly it does me, too.

If you are struggling and straddling the fence, this IS the judgement-free zone but it also is the LOVE zone! Love speaks the truth and love confronts so this will be my first blog like this ever but I invite you to LOVE YOURSELF today maybe in a new way and confront those things in your own life that you have been hiding or faking or pretending weren’t there. You know those things we juggle so well that we lose sight of the fact that they are sin or a weight that is easily keeping us from our next step in Him.

Please pause and ask God to show you what needs to be removed from your life so that you can be hot and no longer luke warm……..I know what He has shown me that needs to go.
