The hardest part is deciding. the next hardest part is having the courage to go get it. Getting what we want out of life is the easy part. It’s just getting past those first two steps that can take, well, decades for many of us.
To a large degree, I’ve known what I wanted out of life since I was in my early 20’s and have been hard after it since then. I have generally gotten what I set out for on many levels. And that would explain the general satisfaction I’ve had in life up til now.
But this weekend, by asking some very important questions, hearing from God taking time to be in His presence, and doing a few insightful exercises at a mastermind I am part of, my purpose and passion aligned. I am so excited to really know with more clarity than I’ve had in a while what I am supposed to be doing in this season, excited about it and fully expecting it to give me what I want out of life.
Here’s what I want to encourage you with if you’re like, please tell me the secret sauce. The secret sauce is getting around the right people, being in the right place at the right time, and obeying God when He leads you to do things you think are bigger than you. When you are around the right people, they pull what you want out of you. And they give you the courage to go get it. There is nothing like being in a room of people like I was this weekend who are for you and for each other and really all in it to win it.
What you want and what I want may look very different and that’s ok. We are very different from one another. But ask yourself these questions…
What one simple question I learned this weekend? Ask yourself this: I feel successful when… and list out 10 things that describe when you are being successful. This start will help you begin to narrow down what you want out of life and give you the courage to go get it!
Happy Monday!
