A 21 Day Love Dare
Find a friend or grab your spouse or boyfriend or girlfriend and take the 21 Day Love Dare!
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NASB
4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbe-comingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 ove never fails.
I double-dog dare you to try something for the next 21 days! Read that passage and put your name in place of love and attach faith to it, which makes it a declaration over your life. Imagine this declaration being real and true of who you actually are. Believe God that love’s characteristics will become yours! Go ahead now and put your name in place of “love” in these translations, too. You will love enjoying the effects of it in your life.
4 Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance. 5 Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek its own honor. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. 6 Love joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong. 7 Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up (TPT).
And I love this one!
“Let me describe love. Love stays in difficult relationships with kindness. Love does not play ‘oneupmanship, nor does it react to those who do. Love is not rude or grasping or overly sensitive, nor does love search for imperfections and faults in others. Love is the most enduring quality of human existence. It keeps on keeping on; it trusts in God in every situation and expects God to act in all circumstances. Nothing can destroy love.” (Johnson)
The love of God was poured out into your heart when you became a Christian and so His love described is in you. Love and all that love is is the very nature and DNA of God and when we are born again, we are born again with the DNA and nature of God. Taking this love dare will help you get a true revelation of who you are in Christ. You will begin to see yourself as God sees you and hear what God says about you as you speak it out of your own mouth.
Enjoy!
Happy Monday!
XO,
Adrienne
