When I think of crazy faith, I think of…

• When Jesus fed the ten thousand with a fish snack and a few pieces of bread.
• When Peter walked on water.
• Daniel in the lion’s den.
• David and Goliath.
• The stories of Esther and Ruth.
• When Mary washed Jesus’ feet and went to great expense to do so.
• Countless miracles of healing from Malaria in Calcutta
• The time my husband felt led to declare a fast and not eat the food prepared for him and his team in a village in India, after walking for hours to get there. They were all very hungry and tired, only to find out their food had been poisoned. When the village chief heard that the One true Living God told Kevin to fast and pray for their village, he knew God was real and he made Jesus the Lord of his life and was saved. We planted a church in that village and preached the gospel to the whole village.
• The time when Kevin was held at gunpoint in Jackson, MS after preaching in an inner-city park as a teenager. Kevin told the guy to pull the trigger (and that he knew where he was going) and asked, “Do you know where you are going?” To which the gang member replied, “You’re crazy, white boy!” and took off running away from him.
• The time when angry, loud men shouted at me in Hindi, while trying tobreak into our flat in Calcutta. They screamed, “I want the baby!” It was my strength against theirs, two grown men. I yelled for Kevin to come and help. He distracted them and we slammed the door and put the bar across it (which was the only way we had to lock it). We found out later, that at that exact time, a family member was praying and leaning against her bed post saying, “No, in Jesus’ name, no! You may not!” There was no way except with supernatural help, that I could have kept them out, and I am convinced it was from those prayers filled with crazy faith that kept them causing whatever harm they were attempting.
• When I chose to believe God in the midst of my battle with depression and take Him at His Word. He changed my name from “Depressed and wishing I were no more” to “The Happy Lady”!

You know what CRAZY FAITH is?

It is faith the size of a mustard seed that we can decide to yield to and get crazy enough to believe ANYWAY no matter what. We crazily believe that the Word of God is true and that His love for us is huge. That’s crazy faith! It’s not about us or the measure of the miracle that happens in our lives. It’s about God’s amazing love expressed through His power that corrects things in our lives.

“The Lord will accomplish that which concerns me.” Psalm 138:8a NASB

What needs to be perfected in your life (big or small) that feels like you need crazy faith to get through?

Guess what? You have just enough faith for whatever you need! Simply believe ANYWAY, and watch Him turn your situation around. The Bible tells us we have all been given a measure of faith. But the Bible also says, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” James 1:22 NKJV 94 95

In what way could you begin being a doer of the Word that could change your situation, or the situation of another? Is God leading you to be bold and share your faith more? Is He leading you to start a business and act on faith to do it? Is He calling you to ministry? Is He saying to change your diet, or to exercise

(Uh oh! Did I go THERE?:) ? What is God leading you to DO, in line with His Word, that may take crazy faith, but you know, if you did it, would radically change your life or the life of someone else?

These are some key verses you can let soak into the deepest part of the core of who you are if you want to live a life of crazy faith, I double-dog-dare you (sorry…I know I say that alot but it’s just my version of “I beseech ye, Brethren”… lol)  So again, I double-dog-dare ya: look these up, dwell on them, memorize them, declare them, and watch them carry you to the other side – time and time again!

Idea: Take ACTION. Faith without works is dead. Write a go-to Crazy Faith verse out on a notecard and keep it in your purse or wallet to pull out when you are stressing, or just need to feed your faith. Here’s a good one you could write out and keep with you!

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 NKJV

Isn’t it cool how, after this devotion, you feel like you can take on the whole world?! It’s because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God according to Romans 10:17. You know what’s even cooler? You CAN take on whatever life throws at you. God will never allow you to come up against anything that he won’t also provide for you the way of escape. (Read 1 Corinthians 10:13)
