What’s your biggest gift?

What’s the biggest gift you have ever been given?

I was trying to think of the biggest gifts I have ever been given and some of my first thoughts were….

• My brand new red 1990 Cellica when I graduated High School.

• My now three wedding rings. Who loses their wedding ring…twice?! This one is not getting lost.

• Trips of a lifetime to Rome, Paris, snow skiing, the tropics, Alaska, and so many others I’ve been unbelievably blessed with…such amazing gifts of travel. Forever thankful and hopeful for more:)

• Then my mind went to more important gifts like my husband whom I don’t deserve, my two beautiful boys who have turned into young men that make me more proud than I could have ever imagined, my birth family who I’m beyond grateful for as I reel through the files of so many memories in my head, friends who make me feel the need to literally pinch myself to see if this life is real because they are so amazing, and our Harvest Church family and EOH family who blow my mind all the time with their love and awesomeness.

I hope that reflection takes you to the most beautiful gifts of your life as well including people, places, and things. If some of these reflections are less than pleasant, you like me, can choose to pass over gifts or people who have been taken from your life or walked out of your life and spend more time focusing on the gifts that are still there and still enjoyed.

This brings me to the greatest gift of all that each of us have….the gift of choice. We can choose what to think about, where to go to school (if not primary school than certainly higher education), what to eat, what job to go after, who to marry, who to hang out with…you get the idea. All of our small choices impact our bigger choices. What choices are you going to make today that will lead you closer to the happy and fulfilled life you desire? Each choice matters. I love this that Terri Savelle Foy said on our Woman Crush Wednesday 9Am CST Live recently…. “how we do anything is how we do everything”. Remember this with your next choice and make it a good one! Make it a choice out of your love for God, yourself, and others. And it is sure to be a good one! Mark 12:30-31

Happy Monday!
