Something so wild I realized this morning about Memorial Day that I wanted to share…
It was created after the Civil War to give honor to those who died during the war. I never knew this.
It wasn’t actually called Memorial Day until 1971, the year I was born. Don’t do the math, please, and was from then on deemed a holiday to honor all veterans and especially those who gave their lives for our freedom. Truly all who have served in our armed forces have given at least a portion and some all of their lives to protect our freedom.
Something else I didn’t know is that the idea is for us all to pause at 3pm. The 3 pm time was chosen, because it is the time when many Americans are enjoying their freedoms on the national holiday. It is intended to be a unifying act of remembrance for Americans of all ages.

So wether you paused at 3pm or not, I encourage you to pause with me here during this blog and pray for the families of the fallen and thank God for our freedom that came at a high price. And let’s pray together for our freedom to ring!
XO,
Happy Memorial Day!
