I was wrong!

Ever been there? I was wrong. Just say it and you won’t believe how good it feels. It’s so freeing to just go, yep. I was wrong.

And the great thing is, you’re never alone because we all could say that about a thousand things. Isn’t that great news?! Or am I weird to be this excited to admit this to you.

But ya know what some things are I was wrong about? I was wrong that some people had good intentions. I was wrong and I pulled double duty for their part of the relationship and mine. And then I was left empty handed. Ever been there? We all have. And if you haven’t, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you will be.

You’re probably like, Woooooa, I thought this blog was called HAPPY Monday Blog. It is! It really is happy. Here’s where the road takes a curve and you start seeing the happy part. When you are able to admit you were wrong – about you being wrong or also able to accept that they may have been wrong, too, you stop carrying their weight and yours. You actually drop blame right on it’s head. You realize it isn’t helpful to blame THEM OR YOURSELF. If this has been a thing for you with messy relationships like it has been for me, you will be wanting to do a cart wheel in just a few minutes. I am thinking about doing one when I’m done writing this.

Why? Because when you let yourself and them be wrong and you realize, it’s ok. You’re still breathing. You’re still gonna be fine. You may cry a few tears like me. You may cry a lot of tears. But it’s truely ok. And here’s why. God is never wrong. We change. People come in and out of your office, your bestie group, your church, even your family. Well, I suppose once family, always family, but not necessarily always in the way it oughta be.

Again, the happy part…when you are able to say with peace and joy and effortless resolve, “I was wrong”, then you can humbly ask for forgiveness, give forgiveness when needed and carry on skipping down the lane with or without their concession. Why? How? Because you have His grace. He will never leave you or forsake you. I may. She may. He may. We are all uniquely screwed up in our own special way. My husband says that all the time. lol It’s so true.

Whether you were wrong in the way you said something, handled a situation, or you were wrong about their character or that you expected more from them than they were able to give or that you misjudged them and they didn’t deserve it. Find freedom this week in saying with ease, “I was wrong.” Not flippant. but sort of. It may come across like that but it isn’t actually flippant. You are just so aware of God’s grace and so confident in His mercy toward you and toward those you were wrong about. You may have never seen things landing this way but here you are. And it’s ok because He is NEVER wrong.

As we exalt how right He is, our wrongs and theirs become insignificant. We lift up our eyes where our help comes from to make all these wrongs right in a way only He can. god knows you’ve tried and come up short. His ways are so much higher than ours. Trust Him today with your wrongs and theirs. And have a HAPPY MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, EVERY DAY ANYWAY! Ps 40:4
