What Do You See?

Happy Monday!

What Do You See?

Scripture: Romans 8:24-25

“For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”

What are you looking at today?

Because what we see with our natural eyes and what God has promised us in His Word can sometimes look like two totally different things.

Romans 8 reminds us that hope isn’t about what we can already see. If we could see it, we wouldn’t need hope! Hope is believing God for what we don’t see yet and patiently waiting for it.

So today, I want to encourage you to do something:

Focus the eyes of your spirit on His promises in His Word until a picture forms in your heart of what you hope for.

That picture matters.

Faith has a way of seeing something before our natural eyes can see it. And the more I focus on what God has said, the more His Word begins to paint a picture inside of me of what my life, my family and my future can look like.

There comes a point when I have to make a choice about which picture I’m going to believe. I choose to exalt what I see in His Word over what I see in my life. My faith is built off of the blueprint His Word has produced in me, to the point that I dismiss anything I see that is contrary to it in my life. That doesn’t mean I’m pretending circumstances aren’t there. It means I refuse to let circumstances have the final word.

My natural eyes may see one thing. God’s Word promises another. And I’m choosing what the Word promises over what I see. What are you choosing to look at and focus on today?

Pray This With Me

Lord, forgive me for seeing with these natural eyes more than with the eyes of my spirit.

I enter Your gates with thanksgiving for all Your promises, and I enter Your courts with praise for Your faithfulness.

I keep myself built up, praying in the Spirit and walking in the Spirit, so I do not walk according to my flesh and these eyes that are limited.

I see through the eyes of faith.

I speak to this mountain and say, “Be removed and cast into the sea.”

I see what You have for my life and my family, and it is good.

I will build my life based on Your reality, not mine.

I love You, Jesus.

I trust You.

I wait.

I believe.

#GodIsLoveisHappy

Happy Monday, girls! This week, don’t let what you see talk you out of what God said. Keep looking at His promises until what He said becomes more real in your heart than what you see with your eyes.
