Have you ever felt like you were soaring one day from the applause—only to be crushed the next by criticism?

Here’s the truth:
If you need the cheers, the jeers will destroy you.

It’s a harsh reality, but an important one. Because often, it’s not long before the same people who cheer you on are the ones who start to tear you down. People are fickle. Their opinions change like the wind.

So here’s your reminder:
Don’t listen to either.
Not the cheers.
Not the jeers.

We weren’t made to live for applause or approval—we were made to live anchored in truth.

Let’s talk about what that looks like.

Mature Christians…
– ENCOURAGE instead of gossip.
– CONFRONT in love instead of cowardly going behind your back.
– PRAY for you instead of judging you unfairly.
– GIVE grace instead of getting defensive over every little thing.
– FORGIVE instead of labeling someone “toxic” for having a bad five minutes.

If you’re constantly chasing approval, you’ll be crushed by criticism.
But when your identity is rooted in Christ, both praise and pushback lose their power.

Here’s a better way:
– Own it when it’s a YOU issue.
– Differentiate when it’s a THEM issue.
– And recognize it’s usually a combo—even when we don’t want to see it.

Take a big bite of humble pie—whether they do or not.
Love anyway.
Pray they’ll do the same.
And if they don’t? That’s a them issue. Differentiate.

Believe ANYWAY that God is working it all out for good.
And go on your merry way doing all you can to live at peace with others—as much as the two-way street allows.

Live HAPPY ANYWAY.

You don’t need the cheers.
And you don’t have to fear the jeers.
When your heart stays anchored in Him, you can keep going with peace, purpose, and joy—no matter what noise surrounds you.

Keep walking in truth.
Keep choosing love.
Keep living FREE.
