Living in Line with His Word

“Be it according to Thy Word.” Exodus 8:10

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe the reason things are harder than they have to be at times for you or for someone you know and love could be because you are living in absolute opposition to The Word and maybe don’t realize it? The more I learn of how complicated situations are for people we are in the process of trying to encourage, develop, pastor, and reach, the more I am seeing the problem is not the problem. The problem is lack of wisdom that comes from not knowing the Word and understanding that it is a sword that divides between the soul and the spirit. What people think is the problem is only the result of not living in line with The Word of God.

The current culture we live in, for the most part, seems to have no compass. So few have a true North anymore and so no wonder they are all over the place not knowing which way is up. More and more people are confused about what is right and wrong, what is love and what is hate. You’re “mean” even if you “speak the truth in love” according to many. You’re unsafe if you call a spade a spade. People are lonely beyond comprehension, filled with anxiety to the point of constant angst, and agonized by relational pain that is sabotaging their happiness. It seems we as a society no longer know what is sin and what is acceptable in the sight of God. Relativism is rampant. Accountability is unheard of because anyone who tries to hold someone to a standard is offensive or aggressive, they say.

It seems that going by the way you feel instead of making choices based on character, principle, and truth found in The Word is causing people’s lives to go off the rails. When we live in line with The Word when it comes to marriage, things work better. People decide to change what they think is right and just decide to go off script from Scripture and ignore what they know to be right until they become so calloused they no longer know right from wrong. Sexual purity is now considered old fashioned and antiquated, not seen as important to protect anymore. But this mindset is wrecking families and breaking hearts.

“Gossip is like eating cheap candy;do you want that in your belly?” Prov. 26:22 MSG Great minds talk about ideas. Average minds talk about events. And small minds talk about people. Which type of mind do you have? You will know by which you talk about most;ideas, events, or people.

The interesting thing is: a lot of people seem to want to sort of follow God but with one foot in and one foot out. The Bible says to be hot or cold. When will you go all in and trust God? What do you need to put down or what weight do you need to lay off that is holding you back?

The Word says you have the mind of Christ and so we align with His Word when we expect to make right decisions because we know His Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. We know He shows us things to come and that the voice of our shepherd, we will hear and the voice of a stranger, we will not harken unto.

The Word says when we humble ourselves in the sight of The Lord, He will lift us up. So maybe what holds us back sometimes is when we try and lift ourselves up instead of leaving it to The Lord to do so which takes humility to trust His timing instead of ours. We forget that The Word says it’s by both faith and patience that we will inherit the promise. Don’t grow weary in well doing. In due season, you will reap!

The Word says it’s not by might or by power but by His Spirit! …and for us to lean not on our own understanding and in all our ways to acknowledge Him and He will direct our steps.

Do you know what The Word says about a situation that is concerning you right now? Study to show yourself approved so that you know The Word and so you can line your life up with it. If you apply The Word to your situation, you will come out on top. If you don’t, you won’t in the end.

Do you wonder what part of The Word is your life not lining up with? If you want to email me or DM me on Instagram any questions this blog has evoked, feel free to and if I can help talk you through getting your life to line up with The Word, just let me know. The Bible says we perish for lack of knowledge so if any area of life is perishing, you need more wisdom in that area and that wisdom comes from The Word!

Pray this and live this: “Be it according to Thy Word.” Exodus 8:10 Share this mindset with everyone you know because it’s not something many seem to know these days and is THE answer to our lost and dying world.

Happy Monday!

Adrienne
