God of your troubles

“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” Ps 32:7 NIV

Troubles can feel so heavy. Trouble comes to us all and maybe right now, your’s are suffocating you, making it hard to catch a breath. Troubles can be absolutely overwhelming, cruel, heartless, and relentless. It seems like they come in waves and sometimes the wind and undertow are so forceful, they take people completely out.

I know this feeling and many millions of others do, too. Pain that is indescribable. Anguish unquinchable. Heartache that takes your breath away. I had the great honor to get to go and be part of a celebration of life yesterday of such a beautiful soul who, though he filled the room he was in with love and light, wasn’t able to overcome the darkness that enveloped him. It left me with a pit in my gut that is still there. He was my son’s classmate and buddy. They spent the night at each other’s houses and grew up together. He was only 26. It’s not ok. It’s not how his story should have ended. Yet, the family was all inspiring to watch them go to their hiding place as they weather this storm. To see this precious family cling to Jesus, knowing He is where their help comes from even in the face of the unthinkable has left me so full of hope and determination to keep sharing what God has put in my heart of how you really can be happy ANYWAY, love ANYWAY, and believe ANYWAY in the face of any trouble. God truly is a safe hiding place and he will surround us in difficult times with songs of deliverance.

Seek Him and you will find Him. Part of seeking Him is also seeking help from His body. It is so important to be vitally connected to a local church family and to reach out when we need someone to throw us a life saving device which may be a simple coffee date or lunch after church together. If you are sinking and nobody knows it, call for help! The pain can subside. Jesus bore your pain so you don’t have to. If you are wondering then why does it hurt so much, and how can it stop, there are people who know the answers to these questions and many more. Please, don’t hesitate to reach out if I can pray with you or point you in the direction of some relief! DM me on Instagram if I can be of any encouragement to you.

I am praying for you and I know that I know this blog was for someone who really needed it today and in honor of my son’s friend, I pray you will get the help needed like I did and instead of being overcome by trouble, you can help me spread the happy with songs of deliverance to those who need it so badly.

Happy Monday!

Adrienne
