HAPPY Monday!
“Why do I have to be the one to forgive? Why me?”
Girl, if you’ve ever asked that—same.
It doesn’t feel fair, especially when the other person has no clue what you’re carrying. But hear me: forgiveness isn’t saying it was okay. It’s saying you’re done letting it control you.
Forgiveness is for you. Letting go is freedom. And God isn’t asking you to forget—He’s inviting you to heal.
I had to learn (the hard way) that bitterness doesn’t just hurt them, it wrecks you. So when I chose to forgive anyway, love anyway, and believe anyway—it wasn’t because I felt like it. It was because I wanted peace more than I wanted payback.
So how do you forgive? You decide. Even if it’s messy. Even if it’s daily.
Start with this:
“God, help me let go.”
He’ll meet you right there. And freedom? It’s waiting for you.
“Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” — Colossians 3:13
If you need more help with letting go, check out my ebook called Happy ANYWAY in Letting go. It’s a real, raw journey I went on letting go of things as a mother, a daughter, and other roles I have in life. I hope it’s helpful. You can find it at adriennecooley.com in my store.
