How was your Pandemic Mother’s Day? I was super honored to get to preach in two services miles away from each other thanks to technology. My dear friends Pastors Tim and Linda Seidler were so kind to have me be a part of their Mother’s Day service at The Experience Church along with 4 other amazing moms. I had a blast watching their service and our home church service. So encouraging! Such great Word went forth from the Church yesterday! I hope you enjoyed the day and were able to “go to church” either in person or online. If not, check out The Experience Church online & Harvest Church online! You’re sure to be encouraged! What did you do yesterday for Mother’s Day? We also played dominoes and watched a Mother’s Day Hallmark movie! lol
I’ld like to share a thought with you…maybe we have complicated motherhood. We think we have to do all of these things, keep up with everybody’s ways, and really at the end of the day, the single focus that will be remembered when it’s all said and done is love. The more we hang out with Love Himself, the more we understand that the fruit of the Spirit flows out of that love and are the powerful forces we need to enable us to parent supernaturally instead of only in our own strength. Did you know that God’s love was poured out in our hearts when we were born again which means peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness. joy, and self control all were deposited inside of us? Did you know these are the characteristics of God? His personality. His DNA inside of us making us new creatures, old things passed away and all things become new in us! Do you understand what this means? It means we can love with the love of God, a love that isn’t selfish or lacking in any way. A love that is patient and kind.
Jesus loved us first. We as Moms love our kids first and we love them ANYWAY just like Jesus does us! But there’s a “tiny” problem. Our love is flawed. But good news! There is a solution. The solution is renewing our minds with the Word! And more than anything else, to believe Jesus loves me, THIS I KNOW. With everything going on, it’s more important than ever to be convinced of God’s love for us! The more we read His love letter to us (His Word) the more we will be convinced.
And the same is true for our children. As long as we send them into this crazy world knowing they are loved, we’ve done well as Moms! Let’s drill into our kids that we love them & THIS they will know. We may not get all the t’s crossed and all the i’s dotted in our parenting but if they know we love them, that’s the big rock!
I hope you will join Julie Richard of FearlessMom.com and me this week for my new #WomanCrushWednesday at 9am CST on Instagram Live or at 9:30am CST on Facebook Live. You are going to love her! Tell all your Mom friends! Moms of all ages are going to want to come and hang out!!
