Jesus’ Birthday wish list

Did you know Jesus has a wish list and is hoping you will give him three things this Christmas? My husband preached about this this weekend and I just loved it. You will, too!

The three wise men left us these clues. Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh were gifts they brought to Jesus when he was born and they represent what is still on His wish list. Ya know, some people just know what they like and I guess Jesus is that way. This is just what He wants for His birthday year after year…

Gold is a gift for a king and represents our devotion. Will you give Him your devotion…time to pray, read your Bible, and journal what He speaks to you this year each day? That’s what He is asking of us.

Frankincense is a gift for a prophet and is sweet to the smell but bitter to the taste. Frankincense represents our obedience to what the Holy Spirit is leading us to do each day. My husband says it this way…Just fo what you’re told! It works out so much better when we do. Will you surrender your decisions this upcoming year to His will? That’s what He wants from us for Christmas.

Myrrh is a gift for a priest and represents worship and thankfulness. Will you replace complaining with thanksgiving? He wants the fruit of our lips to be praise and worship because He knows there’s power in our words and when worship, praise and thankfulness is what comes out of our mouths, we will speak life and joy into whatever we are facing. The joy of the Lord is our strength and there is no faster way to stir up our joy than being thankful.

You know what’s really cool? God loves us so much that He knows when we give Jesus these gifts this Christmas, we are the ones who benefit the most. This exemplifies just how true it is that God is love. When we give Jesus what’s on His birthday wish list we will receive the lives we long to live! Join me this Christmas in getting Jesus what He wants for Christmas and let’s have the best year ever this upcoming year!

Merry Christmas!
Merry Monday!
